US poll Season Finale grabs Canadians

India Blooms News Service | | 09 Nov 2016, 04:05 am
Toronto, Nov 8 (IBNS): The US presidential elections are in its final stage and soon the new era of Hillary or Trump will take over the entire world. Being neighbours, Canada is all up like US, keeping its fingers crossed to look out for the right president of America. IBNS approached a few Canadians around and sought their reactions.

Jennifer Guello, 55-year-old was partying with her partner Rosaline in a pub in Church Street, keeping her fingers crossed for the Lady power in America. “We want Hillary to be the first Lady US president of America.” Said an excited Jennifer, as her partner kept counting the number of votes Hillary was ahead of Trump.

Arabiata, who works at a Cannabis apothecary in Toronto says, “I just wish that the ego of Trump doesn’t succeed.”

“I think America will remain democratic as well as more of a republic type if Clinton sets in as Trump is a big hater of all,” says Brenda Wright, a banking professional, working with Scotia Bank in Toronto.

Joey Mersal a Libyan turned Canadian, residing in Toronto took to Twitter saying, “If Trump wins we as Canadians need to build a wall with America for the stupid Americans let him win.”

Nilesh Lokhande, a Permanent Resident in Canada says, "I think Clinton will take over because I believe Trump is not the right fit for the post."

However, contrarily for Jonathan Decruz, a student at Ryerson University believes Trump can bring new hopes to Canada. “My family in Alberta became jobless and I am supporting my education on my own, after the oil companies closure in Alberta. With Trump in, I believe, our economy would get a new vibe and we will again be prosperous.”

Estella Schindler, 25-year-old believes, “although Donald Trump is not the man any woman will really look up for, but he is the right choice for a corruption free society.”

“Hillary said Tump is deplorable, despicable and not fit for a Presidential position. I agree with her. Trump said Hillary is corrupt and I agree with her too. Basically, Americans this time has no choice for a right Presidential candidate. I wish America to be a despicable, deplorable or a corrupt state soon.  But as far as I think it will be Trump who would gain the reign as he is better than Clinton in terms of corruption and no political affinity,” explains Sanjiv Dhawan, Principal of Brampton based Guru Tegh Bahadur International School.
