Afghanistan: Blast hits Khost candidate’s campaign vehicle, 4 hurt

Kabul, Oct 5 (IBNS): At least four people were injured when a landmine blast ripped through the campaign vehicle of a Wolesi Jirga candidate in Khost province of Afghanistan, media reports said.

The blast took place in Mujahid Square area of Khost City at about 10:30am on the campaign vehicle of Wolesi Jirga hopeful Abdul Nasir Haqmal, police officials told Pajhwok Afghan News.

It was a second such attack on a parliamentary candidate. The previous attack took place on the campaign vehicle of another candidate Abdul Wali Ikhlas, a member of the Hezb-i-IslamiAfghanistan (HIA), reported Pajhwok Afghan News.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
