Bangkok: Turtles from Indian seized at airport

Bangkok, May 15 (IBNS): As many as 230 Hamilton turtles packed in four suitcases, which arrived on IndiGo Airlines flight from India, were seized by customs officials at Suvarnabhumi Airport, media reports said on Thursday.

"The turtles were packed in four suitcases which arrived on IndiGo Airlines flight 6E077 from Kolkata. They were found unattended in the arrival area inside the airport,"  Bangkok Post reported.

According to reports, the flight arrived in the Suvarnabhumi Airport on Wednesday after which the suitcases were sized.

The country's Customs Department estimated that the value of the turtles at 1 million baht even as the price tag could be much more in the market.
