Bangladesh: Eight killed in Bandarban shooting

Dhaka/UNI: Eight people have been killed in a shooting between two rival groups in Rowangchhari upazila of Bandarban in Bangladesh.

Rowangchhari Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Mannan confirmed the incident to UNI.

He said police, being informed by locals, recovered the bodies of eight people from the Khamtang Para area on Friday afternoon.

Details of the groups involved in the firing could not be known yet, he added.

However, Kuki-Chin National Front revealed the names of seven deceased in the incident on its Facebook page.

The have been identified as Bhan Du Bom, Sang Khum, San Fir Thang Bom, Boy Rem Bom, Zahim Bom, Lal Lian Nak Bom and Lal Tha Zar Bom, residents of Khamtang Para.
