Bangladesh: Road mishap leaves 4 people killed

Dhaka: Two buses and a microbus collided on Magura-Jessore Highway in Mugi area of Bangladesh on Friday which left four people killed, media reports said.

The mishap left 20 people injured.

The identities of the deceased are still not known.

Magura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Joynal Abedin told Dhaka Tribune a bus of Shohagh Paribahan collided head-on with a Khulna-bound bus Chakladar Paribahan at 1:30pm leaving three people dead on the spot.  

Vehicular movement on the route was stopped for hours following the mishap.

The injured people were rushed to hospital for treatment.

Police have seized three vehicles so far.

However, the drivers of the vehicles fled from the scene.

At least 459 people were killed and 618 others injured in 388 road accidents last month, according to a report prepared by Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, as reported by Dhaka Tribune.
