Toronto, Nov 5 (IBNS): The union which represents Canadian Post workers went on to a strike in Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, media reports said.

The strikes began on Sunday night or first thing Monday morning, report said.

The Canadian union said the latest Ontario operations targeted for job actions, CTV News reported.

Walkouts had began one minute after midnight in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The crown corporation on Sunday said the strikes have caused losses and also could lead to backlogs leading to delays in mail delivering to its customers.

Last week, as CTV News reported, Labour Minister Patty Hajdu appointed Morton Mitchnick with an aim to resolve the difference between the two parties.

Mitchnick is the former chairman of the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
