Coronavirus: Bangladesh registers 46 deaths in 24 hours
Dhaka: The highly infectious COVID-19 has claimed 46 deaths in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, media reports said.
The total number of deaths due to the disease now stands at 3740.
The tally of infections surged to 282,344 after 3,200 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8 am Tuesday, the health directorate said in a statement as reported by bdnews24.
Another 3,234 patients recovered have recovered from the disease, which is believed to have originated from China.
The official figures put the recovery rate at 57.67 percent, while the mortality rate stands at 1.32 percent following the latest deaths of 35 men and 11 women, reports bdnews24.
