COVID-19: Bangladesh to bring back stranded citizens once situation improves

| @indiablooms | Apr 04, 2020, at 12:10 pm

Dhaka/UNI: The Bangladesh government is keeping close watch on its citizens, who remained stranded abroad due to outbreak of Covid-19, Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

A large number of Bangladeshis visit India for different reasons, including treatment. According to latest data of Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, about 2500 Bangladeshis are now stranded in India for lockdown there due to corona, said a statement.

Under the circumstances, Bangladesh missions in India are keeping close watch on Bangladeshis and maintaining contact with them for their welfare.

If the stranded Bangladeshis face financial or other problems, high commissions would come forward to solve these, the statement added.

The government is committed to bringing back the stranded people if the situation improves and returned to normal.
