COVID-19 positive cases reach 555 in Afghanistan
Kabul/Xinhua: A total of 34 new positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours bringing the number of the patients infected with the disease to 555, a spokesman of Public Health Ministry Wahid Majroh said Saturday.
According to Majroh, 18 persons died due to carrying the virus and 37 others have recovered since the outbreak of COVID-19 in mid February.
Majroh also said that all the government entities have been fighting in coordination to check the spread of the killing virus in the country.
The official also called upon the people to respect the advices given by the Public Health Ministry and stay at home during the quarantine period.
All Afghan cities including the national capital Kabul has been in lockdown for the past couple of weeks.
