Glad to see Kim Jong Un 'back and well': Donald Trump

Washington/IBNS: United States President Donald Trump has said he is glad to see North Korean leader Kim Jong Un 'back and well.'

Reposting a tweet about the North Korean leader's public appearance recently, Trump wrote: "I, for one, am glad to see he is back, and well!"

South Korea on Monday said Kim Jong Un is "alive and well" after several reports claimed him to be either in a vegetative state or some even declearing him dead.

"Our government position is firm," Moon Chung-in, the top foreign policy adviser to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, had told CNN.

"Kim Jong Un is alive and well. He has been staying in the Wonsan area since April 13. No suspicious movements have so far been detected," Moon Chung-in had said.

CNN reported earlier last week that the United States is monitoring intelligence that Kim is "in grave danger after a surgery," according to a US official.

However, images surfaced in the media showing the North Korean leader cut the tape at the ceremony marking the completion of Sunchon Phosphatic Fertilizer Factory in Sunchon.
