Hundreds protest against Taliban, Pakistan in Greece
Thessaloniki: A large number of people demonstrated in the Greek city of Thessaloniki on Saturday against Taliban and Pakistan as Afghanistan continues to plunge into a deep turmoil since the Islamist insurgents occupied the country on Aug 15 after capturing Kabul.
Around 600 Afghans, Baloch and Kurds took part in the protest. Holding Afghanistan's black, red and green flags and posters inscribed with their demands, demonstrators raised slogans against Pakistan, which has been accused of providing covert and overt support to the Taliban, reports ANI news agency.
Several rallies have been taking place in different corners of the world to show solidarity with people of Afghanistan.
Several Baloch people too joined the protest, accusing Pakistan of illegally occupying Balochistan, reports ANI.
On August 15, the Taliban entered Kabul.
President Ashraf Ghani resigned and fled the country to prevent what he described as bloodshed that would occur if militants stormed the city.
Many countries have since started evacuating their citizens and diplomatic personnel from Afghanistan.
