No agreement reached at Trump-Kim summit
Hanoi, Feb 28 (IBNS): Talks between US President Donald Trump and North Korea leader Kim Jong-un have failed.
The two leaders cut short their second summit here on Thursday but said the talks were going to continue. The point of the meeting was to denuclearise the Korean Peninsula and end the Korean War.
"I felt it wasn't appropriate to sign an agreement today," Trump told reporters. "We couldn't have but it wouldn't be appropriate."
The North Korean leader said his presence at the summit indicated their intention to denuclearise. Answering a question on his intention to denuclearise, Kim said: “If I’m not willing to do that, I won’t be here right now.”
The US President said his country was not ready to lift all sanctions against North Korea without the promise of denuclearisation.
