No compromise on finality of Prophethood laws: Pakistan PM Imran Khan
Islamabad: Pakistan PM Imran Khan has made it clear that his government would not compromise on the laws pertaining to the finality of the Prophethood, media reports said.
The premier made the comment during a meeting that he chaired comprising senior ministers of the cabinet, reports Geo News.
It was called in response to a resolution passed by the European Parliament a few days ago, calling for a review of Pakistan's GSP Plus status, the Pakistani news channel reported.
The participants, during the meeting, decided to address the reservations of the European Union. It was also unanimously decided that the protection of minorities in the country would be ensured, report Geo News.
The participants, according to sources, said the GSP Plus trade agreement has nothing to with blasphemy laws, Pakistani news channel reported.
Earlier, the European Union recommended reviewing Pakistan’s GSP status, considering the misuse of the blasphemy laws. However, Pakistani officials said they were in discussion with the EU to delink the GSP status with the issue of the blasphemy laws.
