Pakistan PM Imran Khan orders arrest of kidnappers of Afghan envoy's daughter within 48 hours
Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to apprehend the culprits involved in the temporary “kidnapping” of the Afghan envoy’s daughter in Islamabad.
Ambassador Najibullah Alikhil’s daughter, Silsila, was abducted from the federal capital’s commercial hub by unidentified persons on Friday and subjected to torture before being released.
Dawn quoted a statement by the Foreign Office (FO) on Saturday saying that the law enforcement agencies are tracing the culprits behind the “manhandling” of the Afghan envoy’s daughter.
Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid tweeted that Prime Minister Khan has asked him to direct Islamabad police and other law enforcement agencies to investigate the incident on “top priority” and apprehend the culprits within 48 hours.
