Police identifies the victim of Saturday night shooting near Toronto

Mississauga, Oct. 24 (IBNS): The police have identified the victim of a recent overnight shooting incident in Mississauga near Toronto as 23-year-old Deshawn Brandon Nicholson.

"Deshawn Brandon Nicholson, a 23 year old male from Toronto succumbed to his injuries. The cause of death is consistent with a gunshot wound," police said in a press release on Monday.

Police said on Saturday (Oct 22), at approximately 3:56 a.m., officers had responded to reports of gun shots at 327 Queen Street South.

Upon arriving at the scene, emergency services attempted to revive Nicholson, victim of fatal Mississauga shooting but he died at the scene, police  said.

Investigators have called to all witnesses who were in the area of 327 Queen Street South in Mississauga at the time of the murder to help in the probe.

Information regarding any suspect has not been released so far.

Peel Regional Police said earlier they are investigating the killing on Saturday and trying to ascertain if the two shootings in the region, including the fatal one, are connected.
