Russians in favour of naming street after Donald Trump

Ryazan, Russia, Jan 11 (IBNS): Donald Trump's Russia stance seemed to have struck a chord with the country's people as citizens in the town of Ryazan wants a street to be named after the incoming US President, a CNN report said.

The people want to change the name of a street, Godless, to Donald Trump Street.

So far almost 300 people have signed a petition.

While many have signed for fun, others have done it in exchange of better diplomatic ties with the White House.

In the recent months, Trump has been very vocal about Russia and the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Contrary to the outgoing US President Barack Obama, the President-elect has hailed Putin as a 'smart man'.

Trump has also stated that the US-Russia diplomatic ties will reach new heights, with him as the President of the USA.

Donald Trump is set to take oath as the 45th President of the United States of America on Jan 20.
