Serious collision in Markham, York Regional Police seeking witness

Markham, Nov 2 (IBNS): Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious collision in the City of Markham.

The collision took place at 10.35 a.m. on Wednesday.

York Regional Police responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of Kennedy Road and 14th Avenue.

When officers arrived on the scene, they determined that a silver Mercedes had collided with a hydro pole and a median then struck a blue Ford Escape.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 73-year-old man from Markham, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford Escape was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision are being asked to come forward by the police.
