Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Kshenuka Dhireni Senewiratne highlights strong bond shared between two neighbours on Vesak Day

Sri Lankan High Commissioner to India Kshenuka Dhireni Senewiratne marked the Vesak Day when he highlighted the strong bond shared between the two countries.

He showed the way message of Buddhism spread from his country to India.

"Sri Lanka received the message of Buddhism in the time of Emperor Ashoka," High Commissioner Senewiratne was quoted as saying by WION.

Senewiratne said, "Sri Lanka and India will forever be bound by the unbreakable bonds of our countries' Buddhist heritage."

  "Vesak", the Day of the Full Moon in the month of May, is considered the most sacred day to millions of Buddhists around the world.
