Syria: 78 killed in blasts

Tartous/Lattakia, May 23 (IBNS): At least 78 people were killed as series of bombings, which was carried out by militants, rocked the coastal cities of Tartous and Jableh in Syria on Monday, media reports said.

A source at Lattakia Police Command told country's SANA news agency that 45 people were killed and others, mostly women and children, were injured, in the terrorist attacks hit Jableh city.

Terrorists reportedly targeted the bus station in Jableh city and near Jableh Electricity Directorate on the outskirts of al-Amara residential neighborhood where bombings occurred.

A suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance of emergency department at Jableh National Hospital, SANA reported.

Bombings were also reported from Tartous.

Several people have been injured in the attack.
