Thailand cave evacuation: 3 more boys rescued

Bangkok, July 9 (IBNS): Rescue workers on Monday pulled out to safety three more boys who were trapped inside a Thailand cave with their football coach for over two weeks now, taking the total number of rescued to seven, media reports said.

The Guardian quoting sources said an eighth is “coming out”  of the Tham Luang caves in northern Thailand.

Rescuers have pulled two more boys from the cave complex in northern Thailand on Monday, bringing the number of boys still stranded inside down to five, reported CNN.

Five boys and their football coach are still trapped inside the cave.

Four boys were rescued on Sunday and they were taken to hospital for medical examination.

The rescue mission was paused overnight for air tanks to be replaced, media reports said.

The boys are members of the Wild Boar football team in Thailand.

They went missing since June 23 when heavy rains caused flooding in the caves, trapping them inside.

Divers found them alive last week.

The features inside of the cave are making the rescue operation tough as it involves both diving and climbing by rescue workers.

The news about the trapped team of 12 footballers and their coach first emerged last month.

The team had ventured inside the attraction while it was dry, but a heavy rainfall later inundated the area, making it difficult for the team to return back.

Following days of anxious waiting and searching, the team was found alive by British divers, more than a week later.
