Three killed in London train mishap

London, June 18 (IBNS): At least three people were killed as they were hit by a train near Loughborough junction in south London, the police said.

The British Transport Police (BTP) said in a statement shortly after 7.30am this morning, officers from British Transport Police were called to Loughborough Junction in South London following a report of multiple bodies being found.

Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service attended the scene, however three people were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers remain at the scene where they are working to identify the deceased and inform their families. A number of enquiries are also underway to establish the circumstances of how the people came to be on the tracks.  

Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson from British Transport Police, was quoted as saying in the statement: “My team are now working hard to understand what happened and how these three people came to lose their life on the railway."
