Kyiv/UNI: The Russian missiles struck an aircraft repair plant in Lviv on Friday morning, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi said.

In a Facebook post, he said several missiles had struck the site, which is close to the Lviv airport.

CNN quoted the Mayor as saying that work at the plant had stopped before the missiles hit and there were no reports of casualties at this stage.

Earlier, he said, "Missiles hit the area near Lviv airport. I cannot say the location at this time, but it is definitely not an airport.

"The windows in the buildings of (a) motor transport company are damaged. The situation on the ground is being clarified and we will update later."

Meanwhile, the Mariupol city in Ukraine is witnessing 50 to 100 attacks daily, according to the city council.

In a statement on Thursday, it said, "The city has been under blockade for 16 days, more than 350,000 Mariupol residents continue to hide in shelters and basements from continuous shelling by Russian occupation forces."

About 80 per cent of the city's housing stock has been hit, almost 30 per cent of which cannot be restored.
