WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook temporarily blocked in Sri Lanka after deadly blasts

Moscow, Apr 21 (Sputnik/UNI) Social networks and messaging apps, including WhatsApp, Viber and Facebook, have been temporarily blocked in Sri Lanka in the wake of multiple deadly explosions that hit the country's churches and hotels on Sunday, the Ada Derana news portal reported.

A series of blasts took place in Sri Lanka on Sunday, hitting several churches and hotels in the country's capital of Colombo and other cities.

According to media reports, the attacks claimed lives of at least 185 people, while almost 500 others were injured.

 

The country's government held an emergency meeting on the incident.
