Washington/IBNS: US President-elect Donald Trump has picked Indian-American internet-entrepreneur, venture capitalist, podcaster and author, Sriram Krishnan, as the senior policy advisor on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the White House.
In Truth Social, Trump wrote, "... Sriram Krishnan will serve as Senior Policy Advisor for Artificial Intelligence at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Working closely with David Sacks, Sriram will focus on ensuring continued American leadership in A.I., and help shape and coordinate A.I. policy across Government, including working with the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Sriram started his career at Microsoft as a founding member of Windows Azure."
Who is Sriram Krishnan?
Sriram Krishnan was born in a middle-income Tamil family in Chennai, India.
Krishnan completed his Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from SRM Engineering College, Anna University.
He started his career as a product manager at various startups, including Yahoo! and Facebook.
Krishnan began his investing career at firms like SoftBank Capital and General Catalyst.
He joined Andreessen Horowitz in 2017 and became a general partner in 2020.
As per reports, Krishnan joined Elon Musk in ravamping Twitter after the social networking site was taken over by the world's richest person.
Krishnan, who was reportedly involved in geopolitics, also reintroduced former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to Musk.
