Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of 3,111 pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu/UNI: A fresh batch of 3111 pilgrims amidst the chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole' on Thursday left from Bhagwati Nagar Base camp here for Shri Amarnath Cave Shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas.

An official said that 3111 pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 124 vehicles.

A group of 2154 pilgrims (1686 males, 424 females, six children and 47 sadhus) left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 83 vehicles.

For Baltal, 907 pilgrims comprising 616 males, 336 females and five children left in a convoy of 41 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.

The yatra started on July 1 and will conclude on August 31.
