Bihar: 16 killed, ten injured due to lightning

Patna/UNI: Altogether 16 people lost their lives and ten others sustained serious burn injuries when lightning struck them in different districts of Bihar on Tuesday.
As per reports received, three people were killed in Patna, two each in Jehanabad, Katihar and Sitamarhi and one each in Nalanda, Banka, Jamui, Arwal, Sheikhpura, Gaya and Samastipur districts.

According to a report from Katihar one Mastana and Soma Khatoon were charred alive when lightning struck them while they were working in their field at Shikarpur village under Abadpur puce station area.

In Sitamarhi, two people were killed and two others sustained injuries at Sawai Patti village under bajpatti police station area.

In Sheikhpura women was charred alive in lightning incident when she was returning to her home.

In Gaya, 15 year old female died due to lightning at Mohammatpur village under Khijarsarai Police Station area where as in Arwal a 55-year-old person lost his life in the lightning at Kokri village under Sadar police station area.

In Patna district, Mohammed Danish and Kamlesh Yadav were killed when lightning struck them at Fatehpur village under Dulhin Bazar police station area.
In Barh sub-division of Patna district, one Vikas Kumar died when lightning struck him while he was guarding his orchard in Sadiquepur village.

According to report received here from Jehanabd, two people were killed while other one was injured in similar circumstances in the district.

As per report received here from Rajgir, one Naresh Bind, native of Sarbadi Nagar under Sare police station area, died at Ramibigaha village under Asthawan police station area in Nalanda district when lightning struck him.

In another incident, three children were injured when lightning struck them at Kadir Bigaha village under Bihar police station area.

As per reports received from Banka, one Ajay Yadav was killed when lightning struck him at Paprewa village under Katoria police station area. In Jamui district, Beni Yadav was killed in similar condition.

In Samastipur district, a woman was killed and her daughter sustained serious injuries as lightning struck them while they were going to respond call of nature at
Rahmatpur village.

In Begusarai district, three children sustained burn injuries when lightning struck them at Jokia village under Bhagwanpur police station area.
