COVID-19: Housing complex in Kolkata’s Newtown vaccinates residents and support staff

Kolkata/IBNS: Amid the lockdown to combat COVID-19  some housing societies and enclaves are taking an initiative to vaccinate their residents in Kolkata.

Ideal Enclave housing complex in Rajarhat, Newtown is one which arranged vaccination for all support staff and residents on Wednesday.

The recipients were mostly the residents including the frontline working staff like the security, housekeeping, utilities, domestic maids, drivers.

The residents were delighted that the vaccination took place in the safety of their complex as most of them were paranoid to visit a hospital, clinic or centre.

"It was an opportunity to honour the selfless and dedicated service of the working staff during such a challenging time" said Uttam Bose, Director of Ideal Enclave Flat Owners Association.

The society association has handled the lockdown restricted situation smoothly without any interruption of services to the residents.

This was possible due to the efforts taken in arranging the housekeeping, security and other maintenance staff to stay on the campus, he said.

The residents’ association collectively went ahead with the preparations to make their staff comfortable by providing them groceries, vegetables, poultry, gas cylinders/burners.

The staff team cooked their food  and some of them showed their multi skills.

A big salute and a small gesture to all of them who have made our lives continue comfortably, said Bose.
