Delhi: Elderly man dies in fire in Dwarka

New Delhi: An elderly man died after a fire broke out at his seventh floor flat in an apartment in Delhi’s Dwarka area, Delhi Fire Service officials said.

According to the fire department, they received a call regarding a fire in a flat on the seventh floor in an apartment in Dwarka area.

Responding to the call, a total nine fire tenders were rushed to the site where an elderly person, identified as Sadan Chandra (85), was taken to Indira Gandhi Hospital after being rescued but he was declared dead by doctors.

Delhi Fire Services Director Atul Garg said, “The fire was in a house on the seventh floor of a ninth-storey building. The fire was in the curtain and AC in the house.”
