New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday virtually joined the Surya Tilak ceremony at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple and offered prayers to Lord Rama.

Sharing glimpses of the ceremony on Instagram, Modi wrote, “Feeling blessed to have witnessed the Surya Tilak that took place at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, Ayodhya.”

Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister extended greetings to the nation on Ram Navami.

In a post on X, he said, “My fellow countrymen across the nation, heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Ram Navami. From the life of Maryada Purushottam, filled with sacrifice, austerity and restraint, we draw inspiration to face every situation with our full strength.

“His ideals will continue to guide not only the people of India but all of humanity for eternity. I pray that by the grace of Lord Ram, the welfare of all is ensured, paving the way for a developed and self-reliant India.”

Ram Navami is a major Hindu festival that marks the birth of Lord Rama, the seventh avatar of Vishnu.

It is observed on the ninth day (Navami) of the Chaitra month in the Hindu calendar, typically falling in March or April, and holds deep religious significance for followers of Hinduism.
