New Delhi: The NDA government at the Centre has called a special session of Parliament from September 18 to 22, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi posted on X (formerly Twitter).

"Amid Amrit Kaal, looking forward to having a fruitful discussion and debate in Parliament," Joshi said.

According to media reports, the government has so far not revealed the agenda of the special session of parliament.

Reports further said that it may not be a joint session Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.

NDTV reported citing government sources that the agenda could include Amrit Kaal celebrations and India as a 'developed nation'. There is an indication of any significant bill that will be tabled and passed during the session.

The special session is scheduled at an interesting time, according to reports, as it comes at the same time the mega opposition bloc I.N.D.I. A.’s will hold its third meeting in Mumbai.

The 28-party alliance has made clear its intention to unseat the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2024 general elections.

At the Monsoon Session, Parliament’s last session, which began on July 20 and wrapped up on August 12, 23 bills were passed.
