India got true independence in 2014: Kangana Ranaut

New Delhi/IBNS: In another bizarre claim, Bollywood's controversial actress Kangana Ranaut has said India got its true independence in 2014 and not in 1947.

Speaking at an event of a news channel, Ranaut said, "The British knew blood will flow but it should not be Hindustani blood. They knew it..."

"Of course it was not true independence but alms (in 1947). India got its true independence in 2014," she added.

Ranaut has surely meant India got its true independence in 2014 when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power with its popular leader Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.

Ranaut, who supports the BJP and Modi, has said Congress was an extension of the British.

Reacting to the comment, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted, "The new Ruchi Pathak on the block. From 99 year lease to bheek main mili azaadi. All the blood, sweat and balidan of our freedom fighters including Jhansi ki Rani dismissed to please the master. The WhatsApp history fans."

BJP MP Varun Gandhi tweeted, "...Should I call this thinking madness or treason?"

Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker tweeted, "Who are the idiots who are clapping is what I want to know.."
