Thiruvananthapuram/ IBNS: Kerala Chief Minister Pianarayi Vijyan has said a partial lockdown till May 15 would be suitable for his  state in a video conference meet with Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.

He said the state would continue with partial lockdown till May 15 and take further decision after reviewing the situation.

The Chief Minister said the public movements and vehicle transports with restrictions will be allowed in districts with no cases of COVID-19 till the previous week of May 15.

Inter-state and inter-district traffic should be regulated till May 15, he added.

The nationwide lockdown clamped on May 25 is set to expire on May 3. The Centre has indicated extension of curbes in Red zones where a large number of cases are reported and phasing out the lockdown where the breakout is fading away.

Kerala has 481 Covid-19 positive cases, of which 123 patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals.

On Monday, 13 new people tested positive in two districts - Kottayam and Idukki, which were the first to be declared as green zones. As new cases emerged later, they were marked as orange zones, earlier. But now they have been marked under red zone.
