Maharashtra: Partial lockdown in Aurangabad from March 11 to April 4

Aurangabad/UNI: Taking into account rising corona cases in the district, collector Sunil Chavan on Sunday announced a partial lockdown in the district from March 11 to April 4.

There will be a stricter lockdown on every Saturday and Sunday, he told reporters here.

The decision to impose partial lockdown was taken in view of rising corona cases in the district since February 15. The decision was taken at a meeting of the Task Force committee under his chairmanship.

The Jadhavwadi Mandi has been ordered to remain closed for seven days from Mar11.

Also, all marriage party halls, religious functions, agitations, marches, weekly markets and swimming pools will be closed.

Similarly, classes in schools and colleges will be closed. However, exams will take place by following all corona-related rules.

Classes X and XII will continue by following the government rules.

During the lockdown, shops, hotels, restaurants and markets will be open till 2100 hours.Online delivery of meals will be available only on weekends.

Strict legal action will be taken if rules are violated, Mr Chavan added and warned that stricter lockdown will be carried out in near future if the corona cases do not come down.
