Man with 245 banned Chinese thread rolls arrested in Jammu

Jammu: Jammu police on Tuesday carried out simultaneous raids in different parts of the city against the sale of banned synthetic threads (manja) and arrested a man with 245 rolls of banned Chinese thread.

Acting on specific information regarding sale of banned synthetic threads, police team headed by Sharad Kalu along with Station House Officer, Police Station Pacca Danga Inspector Raghubir Singh assisted by in-charge PP Chowk Chabutra PSI Jyoti Choudhary raided at the suspected hideouts and rounded up a suspect who was selling banned Chinese Manja in the area.

"During search, 245 bundles of Chinese Manja (Gattu) were recovered from the possession of an accused identified as Paramdeep Singh, resident of Old Rehari Jammu and he was arrested on the spot.

A case has been registered and investigation started, police said.

Police have appealed to public to inform the nearest police station regarding sale of synthetic threads (manja).

Moreover, he said that general public is informed not to buy or sale synthetic threads (manja).
