Nation recognizes service of brave-hearts of J&K police: IGP

Srinagar/UNI: Pledging to maintain the standards set by the brave hearts by sacrificing their lives in the line of duty, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range K Vijay Kumar said it was a matter of pride for JKP that nation recognized the services and three personnel were awarded Ashok, Kirti and Shaurya chakra.

257 personnel were also awarded gallantry medals, highest in the country, he said.

In a post on the official Twitter handle of Kashmir Zone Police, Mr Kumar said “Matter of #pride for JKP. Nation recognising the service of our #BraveHearts. Ashok Chakra, Kirti Chakra & Shaurya Chakra for #Martyrs ASI Babu Ram, Ct Altaf & SPO Shahbaz. We pledge to never fail in maintaining the standards set by these brave hearts”.

In an earlier tweet, the IGP said “IGP Kashmir #congratulates the officers and jawans of @JmuKmrPolice who have been #decorated with the highest ever, 257 #Gallantry Medals this #Independence Day eve”.
