'No resignation, no retreat': Cockroach Janta Party takes paper leak protest nationwide

Pune/IBNS: The satirical campaign group Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a nationwide protest against the Centre over recurring paper leak controversies after its inaugural campaign at Delhi's Jantar Mantar ended abruptly.

The nationwide agitation will culminate in a major protest at Jantar Mantar on June 20, with the group vowing to continue its campaign until accountability is fixed for examination irregularities.

Demand for Education Minister's Resignation

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said protesters would remain at Jantar Mantar until their demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is met.

"A Minister's resignation for such a big blunder like paper leaks will send a message to the system that if you mess up, you will lose your job.

"We need to bring back accountability in our political system. This government doesn't feel it is answerable to us," the group said.

Education Manifesto to Be Unveiled in Pune

Dipke said the organisation would unveil its education manifesto during a protest at Savitribai Phule Pune University on Thursday as part of its expanding nationwide campaign.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who participated in the Jantar Mantar demonstration last week, is also expected to join the Pune event.

What Happened at Jantar Mantar?

The Cockroach Janta Party launched its campaign against paper leaks and examination-related irregularities at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi last Saturday.

The protest drew attention for its unconventional style, with participants using satire, symbolic performances and mock political messaging to highlight the frustrations of students and job aspirants affected by repeated examination controversies.

The demonstration received support from noted climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who joined the gathering and expressed solidarity with students demanding greater transparency and accountability in the education system.
