Mumbai/IBNS: The Indian Railways resumed selected local trains for essential staff on Monday morning.

The essential staff have been recognised by the Maharashtra government.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted, "In another landmark step in our fight against COVID-19, Railways resumes selected local train services in Mumbai from today, strictly for essential staff as recognised by the State Govt."

A lab technician from Nair hospital was seen happy in a video which has been shared by Western Railway on micro-blogging site Twitter.
