Ram-Drohi has no place in Bengal: Yogi Adityanath slams Mamata govt

Kolkata/IBNS: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Tuesday called the Trinamool Congress government "Ram-Drohi" stating it has no place in West Bengal, further escalating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

At a rally in Malda, which is heavily dominated by the minority population, Adityanath said, "I would like to tell Mamata Didi that there was a government in Uttar Pradesh which used to fire bullets at Ram bhakts and everyone knows what was the consequence. Now it is time for the TMC government (to lose power)."

"In Bengal, people are stopped from taking the name of Lord Ram... Ram drohi has no place in Bengal and will be thrown out.," the firebrand Hindutva leader said.

The Chief Minister Tuesday promised the BJP, if comes to power, will formulate strict laws against "love-jihad", which is a term used by the right-wing activities to describe forceful inter-religion marriage.

Slamming the Trinamool government over the alleged lawlessness in the state, Adityanath said, "I have seen how the mother of a BJP worker was beaten up by the TMC goons. Tears roll down our eyes upon seen those images. Even women are not safe in Bengal."

Hitting back at the saffron leader, Trinamool senior leader Partha Chatterjee tweeted, "Before coming to West Bengal, pay your attention to the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh. What will you tell us? How can an accused of sexual assault can kill the father of the victim?"
