Report doesn't exist, BJP lying: Delhi Dy CM Manish Sisodia on manipulation of oxygen requirement charge

New Delhi/IBNS: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has raised questions about the existence of a Supreme Court panel report which has reportedly claimed the oxygen requirement in the peak of COVID-19 in the national capital was manipulated.

In its interim report, the panel stated as quoted by NDTV, "The Delhi government's claim of 1,140 Metric Tonnes was four times the calculated consumption as per bed formula, which was 289 MT only."

"The excess supply of oxygen affected other states in need of oxygen," it added.

Facing ire from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is in the Opposition in Delhi, Sisodia said, "The so-called report does not exist. The BJP is lying. The Oxygen Audit Committee appointed by the Supreme Court has not approved any report yet. So from where the report is coming?"

He added, "I challenge the BJP leaders to furnish the report they are talking about. There is a limit to lying."

Four Delhi hospitals have been called out for excess demand of oxygen.

The hospitals are Singhal Hospital, Aruna Asif Ali Hospital, ESIC Model Hospital and Liferay Hospital.

The data provided by the four hospitals were wrong, said the panel report.
