Sabarimala Temple to open on Sunday

Kottayam/UNI: The Sabarimala Ayyappa temple will open on June 14 for five-day Mithunam poojas.

Devotees will be allowed in the main precincts of the temple only through virtual queue system.

The monthly pooja will begin on Sunday evening and the ten-day annual festival commence on Thursday. The aarattu ceremony will be held on the final day.

Only 200 devotees will be allowed per hour through the virtual queue. The darshan will be allowed from 0400 hrs to 1300 hrs and from1600 hrs to 2300 hrs.

In all, 3200 devotees will be allowed darshan during the 16 hours. Only 50 persons will be allowed at a time in the temple courtyard.

Registrations for the virtual queue will not be allowed for those aged below 10 years and above 65 years.

Devotees will not be allowed to take bath in Pampa river. Besides, boarding or lodging facilities will not be provided.
