West Bengal: Artist Tridib Ghosh passed away

Kolkata/UNI: A golden era had come to an end with the demise of legendary Jatra artist Tridib Ghosh.

His death casts a shadow of mourning over the art lovers. He left his immortal signatures on many iconic characters he portrayed.

He died of cardiac arrest at his residence in Jadavpur at 5.30 am on Monday.

He was 68 and was supposed to start the rehearsal again after the lockdown.

As from Rath Yatra,, the new Jatra season starts but the journey of a legend ends in the starting of this season.

He was actively associated with the Jatra Artists Union.

He made his debut in mid-'70s. Through his outstanding acting ability, he emerges as one of the leading actor Yatra industry ever had.

Throughout his career, he acted in various jatras of various operas including 'Notyo Company', 'Nataraj Opera', 'Bharati Opera' and many more. 'Ulongo Samrat' was his last work. He also worked in some Bengali films.

During the span of his career, he was been awarded many accolades including Government Honor. Besides acting, he also directed numerous Jatra. Countless fans bid adieu him with tears.
