Dibakar launches poster of Byomkesh on day Japan had bombed Kolkata

Kolkata, Dec 22 (IBNS) Dibakar Banerjee launched the first poster of his upcoming release Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! in Kolkata on Saturday.


The film which is set in the year 1943, as World War 2 being the back drop, has captured history with their trailer launch .

The Japanese had done an aerial attack on Calcutta on 20th December 1943 and Dibakar wanted to launch the poster on the same date so as to mark a forgotten remarkable date in the History of India.

The poster was launched at The Great Eastern Hotel, the same place that the Japanese attacked.

Along with Dibakar Banerjee, present at the poster launch was Sushant Singh Rajput, who essays the title role in the film.

The poster of the film captures the aerial attacked that happened on Calcutta by the Japanese.
