'I applaud Kangana Ranaut, she is braver & bolder than I am': Simi Gerewal

Mumbai/IBNS: Former actor and popular TV host Simi Gerewal has praised Kangana Ranaut for speaking out against elements who allegedly abetted Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide.

Simi Gerewal, who has acted with yesteryear Bollywood stars like Dev Anand, Rajendra Kumar and Raj Kapoor, said, she, too, had endured hardshipS in making her way into the alleys of the Hindi film industry.

“I applaud #KanganaRanaut who is braver & bolder than I am. Only I know how a ‘powerful’ person has viciously tried to destroy my career. I stayed silent. Because I am not so brave….” Garewal tweeted late Saturday night.

She added in subsequent tweets, “I don’t know what all of you felt after watching #KanganaSpeaksToArnab ..but it has left me quite depressed.. I’m distraught at what #SushantSingRajput endured .. and also what many ‘outsiders’ go through in Bollywood.. it must change! When George Floyd was killed in America it set forth an awakening. In the same way #SushantSingRajput’s death may be the harbinger of an awakening in Bollywood.”

In an interview with Republic Media Network Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami, Kangana once again accused filmmaker Aditya Chopra for trapping him in a contract and withholding his freedom to work with other directors.

She also accused producer-director Karan Johar of nepotism and questioned the role of Mahesh Bhatt in Sushant's personal life.

In her fiery best, Kangana revealed that she, too, was told off by veterans of Bollywood that she will meet a tragic end.
