Kolkata, Aug 23 (IBNS) 'Piku' music man Anupam Roy now continues his stint with Bollywood by musically collaborating with Pramod Films in their debut Bengali film Jomer Raja Dilo Bar, a surreal romantic comedy featuring Tollywood's Abir 'sleuth' Chatterjee and Paayel Sarkar.

Anupam, who says he has followed the Salil Chowdhury style while penning the lyrics in the film, rates "Ei Shono" by the late maestro as one of his favourite tracks.

"I have sought to infuse the Salil Chowdhury style in the film who is one of my most favourites and I grew up listening to his numbers, And I wanted to come out of my previous gayakis while retaining my style," Anupam, who first came to limelight with Autograph by Srijit Mukherjee, says at the music launch of the film.

"I sought to go a little beyond of all that I have already done since I had forever liked to experiment with music," Anupam says.

Anupam, who worked with Shilajit, Somlata and Rupankar in this film, besides Anindyo and Upal of Chandrabindoo, for a peppy number 'Kemon Bar Je Chaichho', smiles when told by Paayel she has the ambiance feel of a Yashraj Films while lip syncing a playback in the backdrop of Darjeeling Hills.

Abir, who says it was great to work with Anupam Roy, says from a pistol wielding sleuth in thrillers he will be now seen chasing a girl, a man hater, and his job being to change her mind.

"It is a welcome change in every sense and I love doing comedy. And the coming of known Bollywoood producers like Pramod Films will help Bengali films," Abir says. From the Love in Tokyo (1966) to the more recent more recent Sydney With Love (2012) Pramod Films is a venerable name in Bollywood.

Somlata, who lends voice in the duet with Rupankar in the film, says her number is a new experience for her due to its peppiness. "I haven't sung anything like this previously," the Ranjana Ami Aar Asbona and Ek Phali Rodh singer says.

Directed by debutant Abir Sengupta the film's album is cut by a national audio company. .
