Blasts rock southern Thailand

Bangkok, Aug 12 (IBNS) : A series of blasts rocked southern Thailand on Friday, media reports said.


A blast occurred at the clock tower in Hua Hin town on Friday, media reports said.

Another blast was reported from beach resort of Patong in Phuket.

"At least three people have been killed and dozens injured across Thailand in Friday's blasts," BBC reported.

At least one person was killed and 19 others were injured on Thursday when a blast hit Hua Hin on Thursday.

Municipality police chief, Pol Col Sutthichai Srisopacharoenrat, was quoted as saying by Bangkok Post: "Of the 19 [wounded], three are in serious condition and seven of the injured are foreigners - four women and three men."
