Children's NGO plans for a better world for them to live in

Kolkata, May 29 (IBNS): The international organization 'Save the Children', presently working for children's rights in 120 countries and across 16 states in India including West Bengal plans for bigger changes in 2015.

The changes will account for making the lives of the children better, as recorded at a recent event in Kolkata on actions against child labour in association with Wada Na todo Abhijaan.

Tollywood actress Rituparna Sengupta, who was invited to the event said, "I want to stay beside this organization. We all need to stand beside them to help them implement their objectives."

In September 2000, Millennium Development Goals(MDG), a set of eight international development goals to remove poverty and discrimination was established.

With the expiry of MDG IN 2015, Sustainable Development Goals is developed -17 goals with 169 targets covering larger issues.

Two United Nations summit that will take place this year will deliver bold agreement to tackle poverty, inequality and other issues.

'Save the Children' will determine that the society treats the children well and gives them their due. They have organized Post Card Campaign in collaboration with Wada Na Todo where the paintings are drawn by the children to hold the Government accountable to its promise to end poverty and discrimination.

Some of the aims for 2015 are, end hunger and poverty, protect people and planet, end climate change and so on.
