London, June 17 (IBNS): Demanding support for those hit by Grenfell Tower fire, demonstration was held in London on Friday, media reports said.

Between 50 and 60 people stormed Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall as members of the public said the homeless needed help "right now", BBC reported.

According to reports, protests were also held  at Downing Street and outside a hall where country's PM Theresa May met survivors of the tragedy.

At least 30 people were killed in the massive fire that broke out earlier this week in the London tower, the police confirmed.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "At least 30 fatalities have been confirmed; the bodies of twelve people have been recovered and are at a mortuary, which includes one person who has also died at hospital, despite the best efforts of colleagues in the NHS."

Grenfell Tower, which built in 1974, was recently refurbished at a cost of £8.6 million, with work completed in May last year.
