Indonesian Police arrest 13 suspected terrorists from East Java

Jakarta, May 16 (IBNS):Indonesian Police have arrested 13 suspected terrorists in East Java, officials said on Tuesday.

East Java Regional Police Spokesman Senior Commissioner, Frans Barung Mangera told media that nine suspects were arrested on Monday while four others were detained on Tuesday.

He was quoted as saying by Antara news agency of the country: "The police arrested one in Pandaan, Pasuruan District; two in Malang; and another one in Surabaya."

"The figure excluded four suspected terrorists who were shot dead,"  he said.

Suicide attackers targeted three churches in Indonesian city of Surabaya on Sunday and the Surabaya Police Headquarters on Monday which left 12 people killed and 43 others injured.

Mangera told reporters that data related to arrests were temporary and they could increase.

He said several cells would be targeted by security officials.
