ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead, claims Syrian Observatory

Raqqa, July 11 (IBNS): Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Tuesday claimed having confirmed information that leader of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) Abu Bakr al-Baghdad has died in Deir az Zor province in eastern Syria.

However, there has been no official confirmation or denial from the ISIL.

The report comes just days after liberation of Iraq's Mosul city from ISIS.

Russia's Defence Ministry told media that in June the forces might have killed Baghdadi during one of its air strikes on the outskirts of the Syrian city of Raqqa.
