Berlin, Dec 11 (IBNS): Sounding alert, German spy agency BfV has stated that China is snooping on the former's internal matters using social networking site LinkedIn, reports said.

BfV chief Hans-Georg Maassen said that fake accounts created by Chinese officials are trying to subvert top-level German politics.

"This is a broad-based attempt to infiltrate in particular parliaments, ministries and government agencies," he was quoted in the media as saying.

According to him, these fake accounts are trapping high-ranking German politicians into unwittingly selling them information about the country.

China, however hasn't responded to the allegations.

In the past, Beijing had denied any such foul play.
